Ready for an undercover summer with the Nike Air Max 1 “Beach Camo”
Camouflage uppers are generally something we see a lot more of in the Fall/ Winter time. But, it looks like the Nike Air Max 1 “Beach Camo”, as the recent Nike Air Max 97 Tiger Camo, are a solid exception to this rule.
The upcoming months for AM 1 heads are going to be pretty spectacular. Though we’re far removed from Air Max Day celebrations, Nike isn’t retreating from its emphasis on these retro runners.
This premium pair looks to add to the frenzy. As usual with Nike from the middle of the year onwards, this release should be an addition to the Premium line.
Rather than its usual leather construction, we see layers of canvas on this upper as the main overlays. The base is still done up in the mesh build to stay true to the ventilation properties of this shoe.
In fact, this model is functionally unchanged. The real twist comes to us via the visuals.
It may be a bit odd to look at a canvas model and think of it as a premium release. To be fair, this is the same material we see on standards such as the Chuck Taylors.
Yet, it is at least intriguing from a visual standpoint. The accompanying print is in a desert-camo style.
Thanks to this lower maintenance material, the aesthetic actually looks totally different from its usual leather finish. We’ve seen similar motifs on leather classics such as the Air Force 1; this execution stands apart.
Black details sit on this upper courtesy of the lacing and branding notes. In case you OG heads are looking for any other reason to be excited about these, kindly refer your question to those clean gum bottoms.
This would be a great way to add some camo to your collection, an essential style. Due out on July 5th check them at Nike.
